Design and 3D project transfer
How do you send a design or 3D project folder?
When a project depends on textures, fonts, references, and caches across several subfolders, 8ma Quick Transfer can send the complete folder for free. Both people use a browser, with no installation or sign-up, and the original directory structure stays intact.
In desktop Chrome or Edge, choose “Share folder,” select the complete project directory, then give the collaborator the link, QR code, or 8-character pickup code. They can browse the folder and choose the files or subfolders they need.
Why not send only the main project file?
Blender, C4D, CAD, PSD, and similar projects often reference external textures, fonts, audio, and source files. Missing one dependency can produce blank textures, substituted fonts, or broken links. Sending the whole directory makes the working project easier to reproduce.
Send the complete project in three steps
- Collect the required assets into one project directory on the sending computer.
- Open 8ma Quick Transfer, choose “Share folder,” and select that directory.
- Give the receiving details to the collaborator and keep both pages open until transfer and verification finish.

Size and file-count support
Folder sharing is available in desktop Chrome and Edge for folders containing up to 20,000 files. A single file can be up to 200 GB. There is no separate folder-size limit, although available receiver storage, device performance, and network conditions still determine whether a transfer can finish smoothly.
Check the project before sending
- Remove disposable caches and automatic backups to avoid unnecessary small files.
- Use the application's collect-resources or package-project function so external dependencies are included.
- Confirm free space on the receiving device and keep both computers awake.
- If the project needs long-term access, archive it to permanent storage after the direct handoff.
