Browser and page state

Use a current version of Chrome or Edge. Keep both the sender and receiver pages open during transfer, and prevent either device from entering deep sleep.

Network conditions

Device state, browser version, and network conditions can affect a transfer. If it fails, keep the page in the foreground, update the browser, switch networks, or try again later.

Nearby sharing

Enable same-Wi-Fi discovery only on a trusted network. Other devices on a public network may see the filename shown by the share.

Content responsibility

Only transfer content you have the right to share. Do not use the product to distribute illegal, infringing, or malicious files. Keep a reliable backup of important files after transfer.
